Ben got hired by map makers Rand McNally to make a documentary about a road trip - a college roadtrip -

a SPRINGBREAK college roadtrip. Destination: wet t-shirt capital of the US, Savannah Georgia!

At the helm, Cptn. Ben Olson

manning the craft service, Chris Katholi, aka Sweet Meat

master of hand cranked lights and hand shaped props, Kevin Ripp

and me, Sleep Mate

We split during a snowstorm and headed South on the evening of a full moon

SO LONG STINK TOWN!

Spent the first night in Indianapolis, which is a little bit of a stink town too

Went "duckpin" bowling, which is like regular bowling but with midget pins and balls, and nothing glows in the dark

This guy gave us a tour of his old historic building. I snuck off it because I got bored. Remember that scene in

Pee Wee's Big adventure when he was on a tour of the Alamo and the tour guide (Jan Hooks) went on and on and on

about the hundreds of uses for corn and Pee Wee kept fidgeting and rolling his eyes? Yep

Back on the road...

Land of Lincoln

And bourbon

Next stop - NASHVILLE!

Kevin was impressed by the selection of grooming products in the men's room at Tootsie's Orchard Lounge

in the morning we packed up and went to the Country Music Hall of Fame

Dolly

Hee-Haw!

After our short stay in Nashville, we hit the road again. I called my mom and asked her to google

"fried chicken, Chattanooga" She told us Bea's got RAVES

The crew wasn't sure what to make of the place. Lazy susans on every table? Sneezeguards? Flypaper?

But once those platters of corn stuffin, taters, sweet tea, biscuits, pulled pork, fried chicken and "pie" arrived

and that lazy susan got going, our skepticism quickly evaporated
