On my last weekend in Madison, there was a tribute show for John Glick, a beloved friend who was taken from us

suddenly in mid-July. Many bands played and we all had a chance to be together, reconnect and share memories.

It was truly life affirming.

This is The Bobby James, together for one night only. The guy jumping is Ernesto Lee Ray.

That same morning his wife gave birth to twins. Can you even imagine?

This is The Returnables with Ryan on guitar. John left some hard shoes to fill and Ryan NAILED it!

They all did.

The New Recruits, Shinky singing about the age old question, "Who's got the lighter now"

This is His and Her's Vanities. The band is made up of two couples, which actually seems to work.

It can be done! I could not get over how evolved their music is.

Ben and I ducked out for a quick game of pinball at our old haunt, The Paradise, also where I got my

first fake ID taken away. The bouncer was SUCH a dick!

SO WHEN CAN I SEE YOU AGAIN?
